Two readers have called in to say the press photo the Pioneer Press used Sunday, March 18 — both on the cover of the paper and on the front of the Weekend section (much larger) — suggests Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games,” does not know how to work a bow and arrow. According to the readers, the photo shows Lawrence with the arrow on the wrong side of the bow. I think the results are inconclusive in the photo but, even if she is holding it on the wrong side, I bet it’s just because the photographer wanted her to “cheat” the arrow to make it more visible. Lawrence went through months of physical training for the part and that suggests to me that she knows enough to put the arrow on the correct side (and will demonstrate that after the movie hits theaters March 23).
